Vegas Basics

The area commonly thought of as Las Vegas, 'The Strip', is actually not located in the city of Las Vegas at all, but in Clark County's aptly named Paradise, Nevada.  'The Strip' is approximately four miles long featuring over 25 of the largest and most iconic resorts in the world.

The actual city of Las Vegas is north of the Strip, the border near the Strat Casino Resort, with the tourist area about four miles north, highlighted by the 'Fremont Street Experience', a four block long 90 foot high LED screen canopy, covering seven casino entrances and four stages over a four block area.

Between the densely concentrated tourism areas is the more laid-back fast growing Arts District, offering an eclectic collection of boutique shops, excellent restaurants, bars, breweries - and no casinos!

Bordering the tourist areas are the upscale residential areas of Summerlin to the west, and Henderson, to the east. North of the city of Las Vegas is the city of North Las Vegas. Each with their own exceptional dining, entertainment and, of course, casinos.

Beyond these areas lie natural wonders that rival any in the world, including Hoover Dam,  Lake Mead,  Grand Canyon South Rim, Valley of Fire, Red Rock and much more.
